No doubt, every house owner would clearly state that a water purification system like RO would be the best kitchen appliance you could use. Well, it is simple. You get hygienic and safe water 24/7.
But like all machines, you would have to realize that it can get into some trouble and need to be repaired. Well, this would be common among many people who are using RO purifiers. For some, it would be alarming, but just because your RO purifier is not working does not mean that you have to sit back and wait for it to get repaired by itself.
Of course, it leaves you high and dry; still, you can rectify the issue. You can do some certain checking or try to contact the supplier or manufacturer to know whether the AMC was installed properly or whether you did the servicing in a good way.
WHAT ARE THE FACTORS THAT LEAD TO THE NON-WORKING OF RO WATER PURIFIERS?
1) MAYBE THERE WOULD BE LACK OF POWER SUPPLY
Now the first thing that can come to your mind is the power supply problem. You might find out that there would be issues with the power consumption of the RO. It might even be an issue with the power supply.
Well, whatever the issue is, that would make your RO water purifier stop working. So, you have the responsibility to check out the plug and make sure that it is inserted properly. Sometimes you could use a taster for checking if there is a sufficient amount of power supply or not.
2) MIGHT BE THERE WOULD BE LACK OF WATER SUPPLY
Always try to make sure that you have not touched the diverter value by accident. Whenever there is no water supply, the RO system would get automatically switched off. In such a case, you need to look out whether other household taps or the connections are getting water or not.
3) ISSUES WITH THE SMPS ADAPTER
It is common in India that you experience high or low voltage fluctuations. So, in this case, you would need to replace the SMPS. Get the assistance of an experienced electrician, as he or she would rectify the issue in no time.
Certain people have experience in taking care of or repairing such equipment. Well, in that case, go ahead and try it yourself. Here you do have to keep in mind that the adapter is necessary for the RO water purifier. It would be working on the direct current while the input current would be the alternating current.
4) ISSUES WITH THE PRESSURE PUMP LEADING TO MALFUNCTION
In the RO procedure, the machine would need to pump the water at high pressure. And that water would be going to the RO membrane. You have to keep in mind that all of the RO purifiers have an inbuilt pressure pump.
You would not know whether the pressure pump is working properly or not. Whenever you hear the whirring sound, as soon as the water purifier is switched on, that is the clear sign. And that shows that the pump would not be working.
Frankly, these pressure pumps would not be repairable. In these cases, you have to contact the AMC provider and even the authorized dealer. They would rectify or come to the rescue by sending personnel or the service engineer to check and make the necessary repairs.
5) CHANCES OF ISSUES WITH THE LOW-PRESSURE SWITCH
Sometimes there would be a low-pressure switch. It would get cut off, making the RO water purifier’s pump very much dry. You don’t have to worry as you have the option to replace this switch by yourself. Please take the assistance of the technician to do it.
6) THE NON-WORKING ISSUE WITH THE SOLENOID VALVE
Switching off the RO machine would make the solenoid valve stop the flow of the wastewater into the RO’s membrane. What happens is that the solenoid valve gets shorts out. As a result, it would shut off permanently.
7) MALFUNCTIONING OF THE FLOAT VALVE
During the normal course, the RO machine can stop working. This would be common when the internal storage tank gets full. Frankly, this is done to prevent the water from overflowing.
Now when you begin using the water from the tank, the level gets reduced. So, the malfunctioning of the float value would lead to the whole RO machine getting shut off.
8) THE PRESSURE OF AIR VACUUM IN THE RO
Well, this is a rare one. There would be chances for an air vacuum to get into your RO. Sometimes, it would be the technician that had fitted the whole pipes and the tubes for you.
Still, it would be best to make sure that the air vacuum is clean and free from any blockage. Each fitting must be tight, and you should immediately tighten any loose fittings.
But there are chances for the pre-bowl filters to get blocked. What happens at certain times. When this occurs, the vacuum gets built inside the water purifier, stopping the water from getting inside the RO.
Some of the few common scenarios that stop the working of the RO purifiers are explained above. You can even find out more by doing little online research. But whatever the reason is, it is better if you ensure that an authorized service engineer does each fitting and repair.
